How to Color Line Art Digitally with Photoshop CS5

1. Open Clipart File
2. Go to Image>Duplicate  (It's always important to duplicate your file and not work on the original)

1. Name your File and click OK

1. Click on your layer in the Layers Panel
2. Set the Layer to Multiply blend mode (located above in the Layers Panel)
3. This will allow the colors to show up behind the clipart outline

1. Create a new Layer and name it Color 1
2. Place the Color 1 Layer under the Clipart Layer leaving it in Normal blend mode 
3. Select the Hard Round Brush and choose a color from the Swatches Palette
4. Make sure the Color 1 Layer is selected and start applying color

1. To add a second color, create a new layer and name it Color 2
2. Choose another color from the Swatches Palette
3. Make sure you have the Layer selected and start applying second color

1. Continue adding colors following the same steps as above

1. When finished, select all the layers by holding down the shift key and clicking on each layer
2. Merge layers by clicking the triangle at the upper right corner of the Layers Panel and select Merge Layers

1. Go to File and select Save, from the drop down menu, to save your work

1. Copy and paste your finished colored clipart onto your layout and have fun creating beautiful pages
